The Main Squeeze - Chicago Five-Piece Electro Funk Band Plays Gramercy Theatre on Nov. 27th
Chicago five-piece electro-funk band returns to town on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 27th, for a show at Gramercy Theatre along with like-minded local band The Great Apes. The Main Squeeze are currently in the studio with American Idol's Randy Jason, recording the follow-up to their 2012 self-titled album and will more-than-likely be road testing new material at the show.

The Squeeze released their debut self-titled album in June of 2012. Much like each member's varied backgrounds and influences, the album itself contains an eclectic blend of inspiration which seamlessly navigates through funk, rock, electro, and jazz, while still rooting itself in something that's uniquely their own. Whereas the band's debut EP, "First Drops", found the band searching for their voice in the studio, their newest offering picks up miles beyond where they left off. Just listen to tracks like the epic "I'll Take Another" (clocking in at nearly ten minutes), the soulful trifecta of "Where Do We Go", or the old-school funk and impeccable horn arrangements on "Mama Told Me" and it's clear that the band has expanded on the classic funk sounds of the past to make music that is uniquely their own.

Adding to the band's live catalog, this past summer, the band worked with ABIS Productions to film a four-part series of covers which they named the "New Orleans Cover Series".

Tickets for the show at Gramercy Theatre are $20 and doors are at 8PM.
