Blondie: Photos and Set List from Brooklyn Museum, 10/29/09

It is hard to go wrong with free beer and Blondie.

I'm not quite sure what the point of the "no cameras" signs that were postered around the Museum - Debbie made a comment about all the cameras during the intro to "Picture This". There are also about half-a-dozen videos from the show posted to YouTube. Blondie played some interesting version of some of their hits (including a long version of "Rapture") along with a few songs where I'm not positive that I have the titles correct.

Here is my best attempt at a set list:

Dragons of Zynth - Brooklyn Museum, July 7, 2007

I read all the "hate" posts directed at this band after they opened for Television (in Central Park). I honestly don't get it -- I thought they were really good and I would make an effort to see them again. I would compare the band's sound to mid-period Sonic Youth and this may have been what turned off the Television crowd. The crowd this night really seemed to love the band.





The band's next show is at Stuyvesant Cove Park on Thursday, July 12th. This show is part of the CitySol festival.

Mink in Union Square, NYC July 7, 2007

After reading that the RSVPs for The Boredoms drum circle didn't guarantee admission, I decided I would be better off catching some other bands on Saturday. I am not into waiting in line for hours with no guarantee of admission and, based on the comments on BrooklynVegan's site, it sounds like I made the right choice.

On Saturday afternoon, Mink singer Neal Carlson interviewed passerbys. It was all good fun and I believe that a video of the day will ultimately end up on YouTube.
