The current lineup of The Avengers has been together since 2004 and the band is back in town next month for shows at Maxwell's and the Knitting Factory. The band features original members Penelope (vox) and Greg (guitar) along with newcomers Joel Reader (bass) and Luis Illades (drums). Luis also drums in Pansy Division and Pansy Division is opening up at both shows.

Last time in town, the band played a 'secret' show at Trash Bar after their show at Maxwell's. Hopefully their will be another Brooklyn show this time around. Pansy Division is hosting an after-party at the Cake Shop after the show at the Knitting Factory.
