St. Helens Released Debut CD 'Heavy Profession'Jarrod Quarrell, leader of the regrettably short-lived Melbourne band The New Season, has resurfaced with his new project St. Helens.

Jarrod's new batch of songs combine his world-weary cynicism with sparsely-produced blues-based guitar and vocal interplay that bring to mind past work by Jeffrey Lee Pierce/The Gun Club and The Bad Seeds. Triple R Radio described the new disc as a "beguiling and beautiful musical journey through the quotidian, broken and sublime".

The new disc was released in Australia at the end of April and St. Helens currently have album launch shows scheduled in Melbourne and Sydney.
