Electro-rock duo Woodhands are in the midst of a 17-date tour with Junior Boys and are playing Bell House on Halloween. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 DOS.
Woodhands released their debut, Heart Attack, in April 2008 and they are going into the studio after this tour to complete their follow-up Remorsecapade which is due out in early 2010. The band also released a great documentary, where Dan and Paul revisit the site of their breakthrough illegal show in 2006 with Holy Fuck. Check out the clip below...

Woodhands Cover Katy Perry, Release Live EP and Play The Delancey on May 16th

Seemingly touring non-stop after the release of their debut disc Heart Attack last year, Woodhands haven't slowed down with the releases. They released a live EP (an iTunes exclusive live session), a remix EP ("Dancer") and a couple cover tunes.
With all the emo bands who think it is "ironic" to do a straight-forward cover of a pop song, Woodhands does a brilliant deconstruction of Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl". This rendition is far from the original teeny-bopper anthem - check out Dan Werb's growls on the chorus. According to Werb, "we did it because the spirit of the song spoke to us: It's that feeling of being overwhelmed by the moment, of indulgence, of unfettered hedonism. Also, Katy Perry is hella hot. And the song is dope."
Woodhands are started a two week US today in Kansas City and the tour wraps up at The Delancey on May 16th.
Here is the complete list of tour dates:
May 7 - Kansas City, MO - Czar Bar
May 8 - Springfield, MO - Outland
May 9 - St. Louis, MO - Pops Blue Moon
May 10 - Des Moines, IA - House of Bricks
May 12 - Indianapolis, IA - My Old Kentucky Blog presents at The Volrath
May 13 - Chicago, IL - Abbey Pub
May 15 - Columbus, OH - Bristol Bar
May 16 - New York, NY - Loose Nukes @ The Delancey

Woodhands - Live Footage and Interview from Silent Barn, Queens 8-16-08
Woodhands was in town last weekend for one of Todd P's shows at the Silent Barn. The band's debut disc, "Heart Attack", was released in Canada earlier this year (on Paper Bag Records) and the disc was released in the States yesterday.
Here is part of a live clip of "Can't See Straight" along with a post-show interview with the band.
The band puts on a wild live show and they say on their MySpace page that their goal is "emotional, sweaty dance floors". The band is back in the States for a show in Chicago at The Empty Bottle on September 5th but no East Coast dates have been announced.
For anyone not familiar with Woodhands, check out I Wasn't Made for Fighting. There are also a number of other tracks from Heart Attack streaming on the band's MySpace profile.
During the interview, Dan mentioned that the band was just in NYC to film a video for the "I Wasn't Made For Fighting" and the band just posted a link to a fan-made video for the song.
