DOWNLOAD: La Coka Nostra - "Malverde Market"Hip Hop super-crew, La Coka Nostra (LCN) has re-surfaced in time for the holidays with a new song for free download and video! "Malverde Market" features LCN members Slaine and Ill Bill (Bill also doing double duty as producer of the track) and is a sampling of what is to come for 2012. The group has announced they are working on a new full-length titled Masters Of The Dark Arts to be released next May. This will be the follow up to the group’s 2009 debut album A Brand You Can Trust.
There is an in-depth interview with Bill published on The Spizzy (snippet below) where Bill talks about his latest mix-tape, Howie Made Me Do It, and the forthcoming La Coka Nostra album.
Pacino: What’s poppin with La Coka Nostra’s next album, Master of the Dark Arts? How’s that coming along?
Bill: That’s the next record coming out that I’m involved with and it’s coming along crazy, man. Lethal just hit us with a folder of beats. We haven’t heard beats from him in a while. He’s one my favorite producers… he slept-on, he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves but I think he’s a great producer. We’ve sitting on a bunch of beats. I’ve done some production for the record. C-Lance has done some production for the record so far. Jack of All Trades, who did some joints on the Heavy Metal Kings record, he’s done one so far that we’ve rocked. Got a couple more in the chamber.
We’ve waited a while to get into recording this record because everybody’s so busy individually. It presented itself opportunity-wise to be able to work on this record and put it out in the time frame. We have to make moves based off of different schedules, being that we’re all real busy. Slaine might have become the busiest dude in the group in the past couple of years… especially him with the movie work he’s doing. So we had to jump on it. So basically me and Slaine have pretty much been in the studio kind of spearheading everything. We’ve been putting in the work so far, going in. I’m excited because I already got two beats on the record, which is like, a beat and a half more than the last album.

Unfortunately, Slaine's new disc, A World With No Skies, has been pushed back to 2011 so this mixtape is going to have to temporarily take the place of the new album.
“I spent thousands of hours creating ‘A World With No Skies’. I want it to be a vivid picture of my dreams, nightmares, and psyche. I refuse to compromise my vision for a project that means so much to me,” commented Slaine. “I have recently had some success in a way that unexpectedly put a mainstream light on me. I could give a fuck less about that kind of attention. What I do give a fuck about is maintaining the integrity of my album, so I have had to deal with sample clearance issues which caused it to be delayed until early 2011. In the meantime while I rework the album, I am giving you my new mixtape ‘The Devil Never Dies’ for free. At the end of the day fans dont give a shit about red tape nor should they, and I wanted to put out new music now. I locked myself in my studio for two weeks and this is what I came out with.” – SlaineLinks:

Ill Bill Plays Only Local Show at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ (La Coka Nostra)
Hardcore/hip-hop rapper Ill Bill is playing a few shows next month and the closest that he is coming to NYC is Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ.
Bill is touring behind his second solo disc, The Hour of Reprisal, which was released toward the end of '08. Bill is also part of La Coka Nostra and they have a new disc coming July on Suburban Noize Records. La Coka Nostra is comprised of Ill Bill, Slaine, Danny Boy, Everlast, DJ Lethal and Big Left. Bill described this release as "a no holds barred burst of hardcore hip-hop to the fullest, representing everything we love about this art form but feel is missing from the game right now".
Recently, Ill Bill has made a few appearances on Fearless Music to play some cuts from The Hour of Reprisal.
Ill Bill - "My Uncle", Live on Fearless Music
Ill Bill - "A Bullet Never Lies", Live on Fearless Music

Sometimes There is Justice in the World...
Ticketmaster is giving away tickets (You still have to pay the $5.00 convenience charge) to Sunday's Ted Nugent show at Noika Theatre (link). The password is "catscratch".
I would have considered seeing The Doors (Riders on the Storm) the last time Ticketmaster did this but I am sitting here (listening to the new Ill Bill tracks) and LMAO over Nugent's inability to sell tickets. I have never cared for the man, his music or his politics.
On a more positive note, I caught Ill Bill playing with La Coka Nostra at the Knitting Factory last year and the guy can definitely rock the mic. Ill Bill is playing the Grand Ballroom @ The Manhattan Center on August 9th as part of the Strange Noize Tour.
