Ace Frehley will be doing an autograph signing at Vintage Vinyl on Saturday, Sept. 26th at 1PM. You have to pre-order (from Vintage Vinyl) a CD ($15.99) or LP ($17.99) of Ace's new release Anomaly to get into the signing.
While Vintage Vinyl's site says that Ace will only be signing copies of Anomaly, the email blast that I received from Vintage Vinyl said that "Ace will sign one record per customer (customer's choice) including KISS records."
As always - call the store to confirm...
Here is the video for "Outer Space", which is the first single from Anomaly.

Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) Announces In-Store Signing at Vintage Vinyl
Long-time Thin Lizzy guitarist has announced an in-store appearance at Vintage Vinyl on March 4th. Gorham was part of the original incarnation of Thin Lizzy, having played in the band from 1974 - 1983, and he is also part of the current-day "tribute to Phil Lynott" line-up of the band.
On a somewhat curious note, I don't think Thin Lizzy is touring the States and I'm not aware of any new Lizzy/Gorham material so I'm kind of wondering what brings Mr. Gorham to Fords, NJ. Whatever the case, I'll be at Vintage Vinyl on the 4th with my Thin Lizzy CDs in tow. The signing is scheduled to start at 8PM.
Here is a clip from the 2005 Phil Lynott tribute concert with Scott and Gary Moore playing "The Boys are Back in Town".

Heaven & Hell - Pictures from CD Signing at Vintage Vinyl, Fords, NJ 8/2/08
I'm not much for CD signings but I couldn't pass up meeting Heaven & Hell. Like most signings/in-stores, this was a wristband-only event. With only 500 wristbands available, I thought would sell out right away so I drove out to Vintage Vinyl a few weeks ago and purchased the Heaven & Hell - Radio City DVD and got a wristband. Surprisingly, I heard some people talking that wristbands were still available early in the day. It seems at bit unbelievable that this wasn't as mobbed as the Ozzy/Sabbath CD signing at VirginMega back in the late 90's.
Anyway, the line seemed to move fairly quickly and it was about a 90 minute wait to meet the band. The band was really cool and I got a few pictures in addition to the signed DVD.
Heaven & Hell are playing PNC Arts Center on August 9th and Jones Beach on August 10th.

Judas Priest Plans In-Store Appearance at Vintage Vinyl
Rob Halford, KK Downing and Glenn Tipton are making a rare in-store appearance at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ. The first 500 fans to pre-order the forthcoming CD, Nostradamus, from Vintage Vinyl will receive a wristband that will get them into the event.
The signing will be on Friday, May 9th @ 6PM and I would expect wristbands to go quickly. According to Vintage Vinyl's site, this is the band's first in-store in 25 years.
Nostradamus is officially released on June 17th but the title track is available as a free download on LiveNation's site. Judas Priest is touring this summer as part of the Metal Masters tour (with Heaven and Hell and Testament). Local dates are August 9th at PNC Bank Arts Center and August 10th at Jones Beach.

New Music Releases this Week
As usual, there isn't much of interest at the Big Box stores (Best Buy and Circuit City). The fun stuff is at the indie stores and my favorite indie stores are Vintage Vinyl and Newbury Comics.
Vintage Vinyl has:
All three of Joy Division's original albums remastered with a bonus live CD for $19.99 each
- Unknown Pleasures' bonus live disc - Factory, Manchester: April 11, 1980
- Closer's bonus live disc - Live at ULU, Feb 8, 1980
- Still's bonus disc - Soundcheck and live @ High Wycombe Town Hall, Feb. 20, 1980
** All CDs come with a limited edition 7" of "She's Lost Control/Dead Souls"
Interpol - Live at the Astoria in London (6 track live EP) $6.99
The Hold Steady - Live at Fingerprints (5 track EP) $5.99
Newbury Comics has:
- Autographed Angels of Light/M. Gira CD $13.99
- Autographed Carbon/Silicon CD $13.99
(Where else are you going to get Mick Jones and Tony James' autograph?)
- Autographed Dillinger Escape Plan CD $12.99
- Autographed From Autumn to Ashes CD $12.99
- Autographed High on Fire CD $12.99
(I am a bit surprised that this one hasn't been bought out by the eBay speculators)
There are a lot more limited-edition pressings and autographed stuff on both sites so check them out.

The Kin Headline Highline Ballroom on November 21st
One of my favorite NYC bands, The Kin, just finished their tour with Josh Kelley and Pat McGee and are headlining a show at Highline Ballroom on November 21st.
It is great to see the band's popularity soar as they are great guys who put on a phenominal live show. The band is playing with Wakey Wakey and Dan Torres. Tickets are only $12 in advance and $15 day of show.
The band was supposed to be playing a live set at Vintage Vinyl record store in Fords, NJ on November 20th. I am wondering if this show is now off as The Kin are no longer listed on the Vintage Vinyl site and Sebastian Bach is now doing an autograph signing at Vintage Vinyl the same night.
