Red Heart the Ticker is Playing Union Hall on June 7th

Red Heart the Ticker @ Union Hall on June 7thRed Heart the Ticker is playing their first show in Brooklyn at Union Hall on Thursday, June 7th. The band, which is now based out of Philadelphia, has spent the last eighteen months on the road touring behind their first CD, For The Wicked .

The band has been generating a buzz over the last few months after recording a radio session with KEXP (link) and making the cover of March 8th edition of the Philadelphia City Paper (link).

Here is an overview of the band from their MySpace page:

Red Heart the Ticker is the musical home of Robin MacArthur and Tyler Gibbons (formerly Mildew and Star.) Red Heart's first album For the Wicked was recorded in 2005 in a barn in Vermont. While recording they were living in a cabin (they built) with no running water and no plumbing. Their songs are about geography and the poetry of places. Their music was bred in isolation. It is about drinking, and blinking, and racing stripe winters. Their haunting sound, lush with harmonies, has been compared to The Innocence Mission, Will Oldham, Wilco, and Emmylou Harris.
Also on the bill with Red Heart are Luke Temple and The Rosewood Thieves. The show is at 8PM and tickets are $8.00.
