Bands led by actors need to move aside, the Rock Bottom Remainders are playing Webster Hall this weekend. All kidding aside, I remember when the band came through DC in the late 90s and they got great reviews. The band is back together for a one show tour (New York City only) called the "Still Younger Than Keith Tour".
For those who aren't familiar with the band, the lineup consists of (in alphabetical order, no less):
- Mitch Albom
- Dave Barry
- Roy Blout Jr.
- Greg Iles
- Kathi Kamen Goldmark
- Stephen King
- Matt Groening
- James McBride
- Amy Tan
- Ridley Pearson
- Scott Turow
Roger McGuin will be a special guest of the band at this show.
The band is donating proceeds to charity (see the list of charities here) and the show looks like a lot of fun. Check out the band on Good Morning America on Thursday morning (May 31st).
Tickets are only $25 and a lot of the ticket packages are tax deductible. I am just thinking that it would really be something to have a book signed by all the performers....
