DOWNLOAD: Lowry - "Whiskey" (from Love is Dead)
"Deep and melancholy, yet enlightened and full of hope, Lowry's Love is Dead breaks all the rules of indie rock and then manages to sound as approachable and alluring as The Shins.”
–Skope Magazine
Lowry hit the mainstream press in 2008 with their CD Love is Dead (Engine Room Recording) and an appearance at All Points West. The band is playing a series of residency shows at Spike Hill every Thursday night in February and March prior to their heading back into the studio. The new album is being produced by Mark Christensen (Raekwon, Langhorne Slim, 50 Cent) and is slated for release by Engine Room Recordings in September of this year.
Here are the details on the upcoming residency and a teaser for the new disc is at the bottom of the post.

The Bloodsugars are Playing Public Assembly Tonight (April 10th)
DOWNLOAD: The Bloodsugars - "Purpose Was Again" (MP3)
Village Voice said "The Bloodsugars play sweet garage synth-pop, refreshingly unconnected to bands of the 80's in it's simplicity."
The Bloodsugars are playing a show tonight at Public Assembly in Williamsburg with Soft Black, Grand Mal and Mitten Field. The show supposed to include Spacecamp but guitarist Jon Wiley was in an accident a few weeks back. Tonight's show is dedicated to Jon's speedy recovery.
The Bloodsugars released their debut CD, BQEP, last summer which is available on Engine Room Recordings.
