With Thanksgiving coming up this week, I started breaking out some of the new Christmas CDs.
Tim Lambesis and Austrian Death Machine released their first full length disc Total Brutal earlier this year. Total Brutal is a hilarious send-up of the genre that completely ruined my ability to sit through bad metal bands. While listening to these bands, all I could think about was the Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonator on Total Brutal saying "Off course all the songs sound the same...they're brutal".
In an effort to make Christmas brutal, Austrian Death Machine are back with a holiday single. The band covers Judas Priest's "Hell Bent for Leather" and the holiday chestnut "Jingle Bells". Ahhnold says "Why write a new song when I can take whatever one I want". The three-song EP wraps up with "Get To the Choppa" (from Total Brutal).
A Very Brutal Christmas was released today and is available on iTunes, Amazon and directly from Metal Blade.
