JoyCut (Italian Experimental Rock) Play Bar Matchless on Friday, 10/17 and Trash Bar (CMJ) on 10/23

Bologna, Italy's JoyCut have an intriguing dark-wave/post-rock sound and a dynamic live show to go along with the music. The trio played Mercury Lounge earlier this year on their first proper US tour and the two drummers sat face to face with a guy with 'machines', both a conductor and author, in between them. According to the band's bio, "JoyCut produce a mesmerizing and conceptual sound based on dilated and biting electro sound."

The band is back in town for shows at Bar Matchless on Friday, 10/17 and Trash Bar (as part of CMJ), on Thursday, 10/23.

Black Bird White Sky: Brooklyn Electro-Rock Band Announces March Shows at Bar Matchless and Grand Victory

Formed in 2011 in Brooklyn, Ronnie Shingelo, singer and creator of Black Bird White Sky teamed up with producer/engineer/mixer Nic Hard (The Bravery, Aberdeen City, Church, The Ropes) and co-producer/engineer Jonathan Goldstein. Recorded on an MBox with software at Ronnie’s private home studio and later at Nic’s studio, they worked with what they had, and what results is a beautiful collection of new songs loaded with catchy hooks and in your face lyrics that stick with you long after you hear them.

Punk rock trio EULA is coming coming back through town next month and the band is playing five shows in Brooklyn over the course of the next few weeks.

Debutaunts Release Free Track from New LP // CMJ Show at Bar Matchless on Oct. 20th

Debutaunts-Everything's Perfect

Atlanta alt-pop band Debutaunts have just posted the first single, "Everything's Perfect", from their debut full length Why Can't We Have Fun as a free download. The new disc came out in August and you can hear the band's cited influences - which range from the Beatles to the Smiths and Stone Roses, to Madonna and Prince to David Bowie and the Beach Boys - in the songs.

The Debutaunts are in town next week for CMJ (as is the rest of the world) and are playing the BMI Showcase on Wednesday, October 20th at Bar Matchless (557 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn). Get there early for the open bar, which runs from 6PM - 7PM.

The Standstill Release New EP / Show at Bar Matchless on June 19th

Long Island alt-rock/power pop band The Standstill have just released their debut EP Southern State Somewhere which is available as a pay-what-you-will download on Bandcamp. The band is playing a show at Bar Matchless in Brooklyn on June 19th with Playing Dead.

The Canon Logic Release New Christmas Single as a Free Download / NYC Shows on 12/17 and 12/19

Getting in the holiday spirit, The Canon Logic have released an original holiday song, "Kiss Me on Christmas", as a free download (link is above). The band also released the first single, "Avenue of Criminals", from their forthcoming full-length FM Arcade. The new single is available on a three song EP on iTunes which comes with a live and acoustic version of "Avenue of Criminals" along with Annie Lane (a non-LP b-side).

Eula is Playing Bar Matchless Tomorrow Night, July 31st (Art-Punk)

DOWNLOAD: Eula - "A Hold" (from "Fill Your Heart" EP)

New Haven, CT art-punk band Eula is playing a few shows around Brooklyn over the next few weeks and the band is starting out with a show at Bar Matchless tomorrow night. Eula takes the stage around 9:45PM tomorrow night and they are sharing the bill with Taigaa (8PM set time), Renminbi (8:50PM set time) and Pow Wow (10:30PM set time).

Bar Matchless is located at 557 Manhattan Avenue (@ Driggs) in Greenpoint.

Eula released a great 6-song EP entitled "Language of Threat" earlier this year. Here is the video "Fight Riff" which is one of the stand-out cuts on the disc.
