Last week, I had the chance to talk with New Jersey alt-rockers Throwing Color. The band formed last year and have recently finished recording their debut EP, "The Static Seas", which will be digitally released (available on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, etc.) on April 14th, 2009.
Musically, Throwing Color plays Warped-tour style alt-pop. You can check out a couple of tracks from the forthcoming EP which are streaming on the band's Myspace page. You can also check out some live tracks from the band on Throwing Color's JamNow page.
In a recent interview with The Daily Rock, vocalist Drew Duddy describes the lyrical themes on "The Static Seas" as "deal[ing] with a lot of issues that I was facing at the time of our writing process...[o]ne thing that we tried to accomplish with these songs is to look at these issues in a positive light and let others know that they can break free from any negative life-style, no matter how difficult it may be."
